We Used To Live Here

Blurb:

You let them back in. You shouldn't have...

Young couple Charlie and Eve can’t believe the killer deal they got on an old house deep in the mountains.

One day, a man knocks on the door. He says he lived there years before and asks if he can show his family around.

But, as soon as they enter, strange things start to happen. Eve is desperate for them to leave and never come back. But they can’t – or won’t – take the hint that they are no longer welcome.

Then, Charlie vanishes, and Eve begins to lose her grip on reality.

She’s convinced there’s something terribly wrong with the house and its past inhabitants . . . or is it all in her head?

My Review:

First of all, I want to start by saying that this review is COMPLETELY unlike ANY I've 'EVER' written! - & please dont be put off, as this ISN'T a bad thing! (NOR a bad review!). When you read this further, you'll see that I've actually gone on to explain as to 'why', - & I've even (WITHOUT giving away ANY spoilers), included a few snapshots on 'others' after-thoughts / discussions on this book; which 'I felt I HAD to look up', & which all makes actual sense; though still inconclusive, but equally, I wish I HAD read/knew THIS ('BEFORE' or 'WHILST' I was actually 'READING' this, - as these snapshots wouldn't have given anything away; but would've helped me to maybe see things 'IN' the story itself, that i didn't question until after I'd finished reading it, (will this be the first book I actually purposefully read through 'AGAIN', - just so I can pick up FROM THE START, all that i was left QUESTIONING/SPECULATING by its end????!!!), = I think so?!!!!, = YES!!!! πŸ˜‰....
Overall, I DID really enjoy reading this, actually all the way through from beginning to end, - it was a VERY complelling read, & at quite a fast, & steady pace; that 'literally' had me turning the pages, WANTING to read more; & with a touch of the 'paranormal'(?!!!!), - questioning of the main character's reality, - it had a few 'tension build-ups' throughout, & a definite need to read more, & to find out how it ends, - HOWEVER, - on concluding its reading, I was left totally WITHOUT any real 'SATISFYING' conclusion to it's ending, - 'ONLY' a 'LOT' more QUESTIONS!!! - & at first, I 'did' feel a little disappointed (do I still feel that? ((I think so; only based on where the main story itself STARTS from (even in book description, & on its back-cover blurb); how this main storyline follows through; THROUGHOUT, - 'The main character's young couple; Eve & Charlie, who have recently bought the house' , = i feel, 'should' have had 'some' resolution, to THEIR ending, themselves, at least, - which it 'DID', - SO it ISN'T an ending that leaves you without 'ANY' conclusion, even, - as it DOES have a conclusion, - but i think as its a completely 'UNEXPECTED' one; an ending YOU DEFINITELY ☆'WONT'☆ SEE COMING; I can GUARENTEE YOU THAT!, - & actually, although it's concluded, it not only opens up more questions; & gets you thinking MORE about the story as a WHOLE; but 'IN THAT'; it actually gets you seeing/realising/questioning, - & drawing your own conclusions (at the end of reading it!), - to the WHOLE of the story, 'AND' to 'EACH' of the characters; THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE STORY/BOOK! SOOOOOOOOOO, actually, = VERY cleverly written, - & YEP!, - it's DEFFO 'THE' FIRST book that I'm actually going to re-read! - I don't normally re-read a book I've already read; as i already know it's story, so it's not even like re-watching a movie I've already seen (which even then, there's only 'certain' movies I can actually watch again; once watched the first time), - but THIS book is 'DEFFO' one that I 'WILL' be reading again, - 'for' ALL the reasons I have stated, above, - & 'to' make my own conclusions; on ALL of the characters, '&' the story as a whole; THROUGHOUT, - so THIS book is 'THE' FIRST book 'EVER' to 'DO' that!; reach the end, only to 'WANT/NEED' to go straight back to the very start & 'RE-READ!' - So Marcus Kliewer, - 'VERY', very WELL DONE‼️πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ πŸ˜‰

Based on a rating of 1-10, where 10 is the highest, I would give this book a rating of 9 out of 10! Overall, I very much enjoyed reading this. It was a VERY compelling read, from start to finish, I wouldnt say 'with a satisfying ending' (??!!!!!), exactly, - as i now WANT (& am compelled to!) read it through entirely, AGAIN, - & probably 'still' with no 'actual' conclusion in myself, as the reader; for sure, - so it will 'ALWAYS' keep me guessing, speculating, & questioning!!!, - (kinda annoying, but in a GOOD way, too; at the same time!), - but I would DEFFO highly recommend! πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ
The only reason I've given this book 9 stars & not 10, is that I feel that the main story & 2 main characters (both throughout, & on its back-cover blurb; what the story/book itself centres from & throughout; i feel 'that' should have at least 'some' satisfying conclusion for the reader, at least, in just that, if nothing else, - but i can't say more without raining anything/any spoilers, - apart from a vague ' it should've ended with 'THEM' ' (but you probably WONT 'get' this last 'vague' statement there; until you have actually read it!πŸ‘Œ) - so I'm just going to leave my review (probably as concluded as you'll find this read!), - there, & leave you all to read for yourselves, - & PLEASE, - I'd LOVE to hear what YOU think, after reading reading this, - so please, if you do, do come back & leave a comment on here (let me know YOUR views & thoughts & opinions on this! - I'll do my best to reply to each, as soon as I can!πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜‰), xx
