All she wanted was revenge—until she got it.
When a mysterious book appears in Savannah’s mailbox, she assumes it’s from her book club exchange, a temporary chance to escape her life into a novel. She soon realizes that this book’s story echoes the events of a past she thought she left behind. Her skin begins to crawl when the details line up perfectly…One. By. One.
Except for one little thing.
Her exes get murdered in the book, but she never killed any of them. Or did she? Savannah’s grasp on reality is shaky. How does the author know her secrets? And who would terrorize her like this? And is someone following her?
After reporting the suspicious activity and a terrifying home break-in and getting nowhere with the police, she hires a private investigator. Together they realize that two of Savannah’s exes have indeed died in circumstances taken straight from this cursed mystery novel. But did Savannah also dream them before they happened?
Her subconscious and her memories are bleeding into one another, and Savannah wants it to stop, and fast. She wanted her exes to pay, but not with their lives. Can she find the author before it’s too late? Or will retribution lead her right back to where she started?
All fictional stories sprout from with a seed of truth.
My Review
I really enjoyed reading this book, which is another written by S.C. Shannon (read 'The Third Girl' previously, although this book was actually written AFTER 'The Girl No One Loved'), & alike 'The Third Girl' it had me hooked right from the very beginning. It carried the same pace throughout, & kept switching between the main character Savanna, & excerpts of the book she was reading, but it was easy to follow, & incorperated within the main plot well.
The book kept me hooked; kept me wanting to read more, & I couldn't have guessed who was behind it, so I didnt see the ending coming.
If I'm honest, I preferred reading 'The Third Girl', but this book too I'd highly recommend, & would say its deffo another 'MUST-Read'!
Out of a rating between 1-10, where 10 is the highest, I would give this book a rating of 9.
