🌼 Wanting Daisy Dead;
My Review 🌼
(Written by Sue Watson)
Blurb;
They all had a reason. Only one had the nerve.
Twenty years ago, student Daisy Harrington went out for the evening and never came home. Her body was found a week later. The killer was caught. Case closed.
Now, on what would have been her fortieth birthday, her five university housemates are invited to a weekend gathering. None of them want to go. But none of them can refuse—the invitation makes it clear that if they don’t attend, the past they’ve spent two decades hiding will finally come to light.
Because the man convicted of Daisy’s murder was innocent. And one of the five has known this all along. As the weekend unfolds, the truth threatens to finally be revealed…
They all wanted Daisy dead, but one wanted it more. The question is…who? And why?
My Review;
I very much enjoyed reading this book. It was easy to get onto; it drew me in from the very beginning. It followed 5 housemates who were invited to an anniversary weekend of what would have been Daisy's 40th birthday, whilst being recorded for a 'Killer Question' Podcast, which was the purpose of trying to prove the convicted killer's innocence, whilst alluding to the real killer having been one of the five housemates. But which one? & why?
They all had a reason for wanting Daisy dead, & over the weekend they share together, their fractured & dysfunctional dynamic between them comes out, & into play. It kept me guessing most of the way through, & although I did suspect the real killer correctly (about 3 quarters of the way through), I did NOT forsee their reason as to 'why?', & I couldn't have forseen the few twists that popped up, along the way! = It certainly kept me reading through to the end; a very compelling read!
Based on a rating of 1-10, where 10 is the highest, I would give this book a rating of 8. Deffo a book I'd highly recommend as a MUST-read!
