My Review! 💬
(Written by Noelle W. Ihli)
Blurb;
He hunted them online, masquerading as an eligible bachelor. Then he played the perfect gentleman – a thick layer of charm and a thousand-watt smile hiding the fact that his first dates end in shallow graves.
He’s got away with murder three times now.
The only thing that could keep him from killing again? The women he murdered.
Meghan, Brecia and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. They’ve found each other. And they won’t rest until they find a way to stop him.
The haunt is on.
Ask for Andrea is a pulse-pounding thriller from BookTok sensation Noelle W. Ihli.
My Review;
So I wouldn't normally leave a review on a book that I haven't completed reading, but I figured that I'd leave this review for the reasons as to why I didn't complete the book.
First off, the blurb; sounds promising, & there's lots of praise for this book.
Initially when I started reading I was drawn in by the 3 murdered women & how their murders occurred, but over half way through the book & I was struggling to keep up with not only the changing characters between the 3 women, but also the 3 time-lines (2 years ago; 6 months ago, now, etc), which kept changing.
One of the ghostly women pretty much remained by her remains until she was found, whilst another of the 3 women went home to her parents, & the third woman stuck with the killer; going home to witness his home life & family, & his goings-on on MatchStrike, as to when he would strike again. But all 3 women, as ghosts, were powerless; only able to cause flickering lights & make computers crash, at the most.
I must admit, it was a different take/angle on the book itself, but I found it too jumping, from one character & time, to the other, & as time went on within the book, with all 3 ghostly women powerless, it seemed to be 'observation' only, & not really much happening otherwise. I did give the book more than a fair crack, but at over half way through, not drawn into the book, I found it too hard a read to continue. Whether I do go back to it, to find out what happens in the end, or whether anything changes over the final half, I'm not sure, but if I do, I'll be sure to update this review.
So far, based on a rating of 1-10, where 10 is the highest, I would only give this book a rating of 4.
